  2. Lost

I’ve felt pretty lost in the monotony of the day to day. Worried about the people of Japan after the earthquake and tsunami. Must remember to be thankful for every single day I’m given. Must take full advantage of each opportunity.

    Four more classes to graduation.

  6. Another day in class

"Have you ever been somewhere that follow different customs than where you live?"

"THAT IS ANYWHERE YOU DUMB BITCH"

"Their role was basically taking care of the kids and house. Pretty much like any third world country. Ya know?"-Dumb girl from class

Talking about A Wife's Story by Bharati Mukherjee.

"I don't get why she has an education when most women in India don't get an education."

"Not true.... We're talking about modern India..."

Ugh. Why is this girl so backwards? Why do they think that everyone else in the world is living in the old country?

  8. Fog

I woke up this morning and rolled out of bed. Walked into the warm living room and was greeted by my familiar friend, the morning fog. Driving to class I lost all but the weak outlines of the tall evergreens that line the roadway to campus. My eyelids sag from the weight of exhaustion and my body sulks up the stairwell to my classroom. Now I rest here, watching the red second hand of the clock on the wall tick by in agonizing slowness. I had imagined, as a child, being so far away from here by now. Somewhere across the world in a classroom in Barcelona. Sitting on a pier in Greece staring into the blue water. But that is not my reality. I stare into the Sonoma County fog. Vague and comforting. Wondering what tomorrow might bring.
